Group therapy for children with ADHD

In partnership with the Foundation for Advancing Wellness Instructional and Talents, Inc. (Foundation AWIT), the Section  of  Child and Adolescent PsYchiatry of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, Philippine General Hospital came up with a six-module program consisting of various group activities aimed at decreasing symptoms of hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity as well as in developing values formation and interpersonal skills.

The objectives of the group therapy are:

• to improve the attention span and impulse control of children with AD/HD and redirect their hyperactivity into meaningful actions through various activities; and
• to increase the awareness and knowledge of children with AD/HD about values and interpersonal skills such as effective communication and socially appropriate behavior
